Picture this, beautiful girls, public school teachers, talented guys and a tapdancer that have alot to say about the world. They sound like a?60s pop, boy/girl harmonies group which celebrates the feisty nature of you. Well what i was describing to you is the band Tilly and The Wall. This talented band is from Omaha, Nebraska and there ready to break the cycle of music as we know it.The follow-up to Wild Like Children, simply titled Bottoms of Barrels was recorded over three weeks in October and November 2005. This album was recorded by AJ Mogis, brother and mixed by studio co-hort to Bright Eyes’ Mike Mogis. Bottoms of Barrels is taking their signature sound to the next level. They still have deep lyrics about love and life in general.
When you start listening to this record you realize this record sounds a little different then their older stuff. There are small doses of Mexican organ sounds that makes you think your in a alley in Mexico. The tapping is more intense and there are more sing-alongs in this record too. Tilly and the Wall also added more instruments with their friends playing trumpet, drums,accordion and cello on the record. With an extra bonus they got the University of Nebraskas own choir Trip the Last Fantastic, bolstering Neely and Kiannas dulcet harmonies. Everyone needs to check out this album. This album will make you the happiest person in the world. It might even give you the urge to tap dance in random places. So get of your couch and turn of your TV where price is right is on and go listen to “Bottom of Barrels”.
