so this night’s lineup was Fecal Food, Dogme95, and Slow Wonder.

\
Fecal Food - I think Fecal Food may be a sub-culture craze. I haven’t talked to Wesley about what the name means but I have my own suspicions. He starts his set explaining that he is wearing shades to symbolize the change in nature his music is making. His dark period. He is 13 or 14 years old and plays guitar and banjo with an orange amp. He probably plays other instruments as well. He is the type where in 10 years he will make his own instruments out of baby bottles and horse hair. He has this song called Chicken Wire and when he tells the story of how he wrote it I hang my head and laugh. His musical stylings may not be to your liking as of yet but he’ll do you right if you make him your pony boy. Always pay attention and support his every move. He’s going to push boundaries. site

Dogme95 - This is a one man show and this man is called Nick off stage. Nick rules. Dogme95 also rules. It would appear he got the name from a Danish film collective called such. Copenhagen, 1995, they formed to save the movie industry. I don’t know much about Dogme95 but as I learn about it I realize I have encountered it before but not known. They have 10 rules in the Vow of Chastity including no props, always shot on location, and the camera must be hand-held. You can go here to find out more about this interesting group. Anyhow back to the show. Dogme95 the chicago artist mixes guitar, loops, and keys to make his tribal chant bit of the rainbow style music. Like TV on the Radio but not so worldly and more hippie. He has a fog machine and says Word a lot. His photo is straight yacht rock and he is always about saying yes to the best story. He was built for the Summer of No Rulez. His new album The Reagle Beagle is the story of a fictional songwriter taveling the earth with Charles Darwin. We have it at Relative and it is worth every penny. site

Slow Wonder - These guys are here to save surfing. That is if surfing is in danger. Their influences will jump out at you if you grew up on 90s mtv but there is a 70s brit punk influence as well. They have this song called Sex Wax which sounds almost exactly like old Weezer - I mean if you didn’t tell me I would believe it was a blue album b-side. But there is nothing wrong with idolizing great music. I think we are going to have show at the store this summer with mandatory attire: boardshorts and aquasocks. It’s a surf contest with celebrity guest judges Dinosaur Jr. and The Dead Kennedys. They are getting better and better and we will be sure to host some shows this summer with their dirty rock.site
