I haven’t bought a NOFX record since 2000’s Pump Up the Valium. Before that I was a huge fan. What suburban high-schooler doesn’t love Punk in Drublic? I mean, ones that like punk rock at all at least. It’s almost a pre-requisite. NOFX are the cradle robbers of punk rock; the cherry poppers, if you will. I’d say the odds are about 3 in 5 that NOFX was your first punk rock band if you were born after 1980.

That said, we all pretty much know what these dudes sound like. Hell, we know what they sounded like at their best. Twelve years after the release of their beacon album here they are, the kings of modern punk rock. I was afraid that this wasn’t going to be pretty.

I’m sorry, NOFX. I’m sorry I thought that you might have lost your touch over six years.

This EP’s just as good as Heavy Petting Zoo or Ribbed, for sure. It’s not their best material by any stretch, but as Fat Mike is so eager to point out in “Everything in Moderation” these guys have been going “longer than the Ramones”. After more than twenty years (by my count) NOFX can do whatever they damn well please. Besides, who am I to doubt a band plays all The Decline start to finish live?

Bottom line? I’m buying the LP when it comes out April 18th.

My favorite NOFX is the older variety… namely Punk in Drublic. Best version of Linoleum is there. Since I’m not as fond of the newer stuff, I’ve been listening to AS FAST AS lately, take a listen and let me know what you think.

Maybe you guys should watch the original “Woodstock” movie from 1968 to get a clue.

Hippies are down-to-earth, peace-loving, tree hugging, pot smoking people.

So your title doesn’t even make sense. Maybe it should say “Never trust a drug-addict” How about “Never trust a thief”, etc.

Oh yeah, and why don’t you actually LISTEN to the album? It might help expand your pot-smoking, woodstock-loving, smooth brain to a point where you could actually stop judging something (because of the title, no less) that you obviously have no clue about, Ms. longcooldumbassinablackdress….
