Art Exhibition
This series has been focusing on periods of time. Each of my smaller works symbolize and incorporate the day in which they were made. And my larger works are about longer periods of time, like seasons, with an emphasis on a few days during that time. I incorporate photos and line into my work as a representation of thoughts or actions.

crabs and comedy
If you think back to early summer '06, Relative Theory and local artist, Jason aka StuntKid came together to offer Dr. Sketchy's the first Monday of every month. Well the creator of Dr Sketchy's Anti Art School, Molly Crabapple will be coming down to Relative Theory, to host a Dr. Sketchy's session and to promote her new book, Dr Sketchy's Rainy Day Colouring Book. We are very honored and excited to be hosting such an event. Miss Crabapple will have Rainy Day for sale and will host a drawing session "...delivers the curvaceous wenches Molly Crabapple is known for...a horny hipster's wet dream." -Village Voice. We will be opening up The Boot for the afterparty and we have quite a little party indeed. The blog famouse comedian and highly caffeinated speeling bee impressario, Jennifer Dziura will be in the van with Molly and she will be doing some stand up. We also have gothic folk darling, Marissa Nadler performing. She is the woman who's albums we put on and evetyone buys them. She does delicate and beautiful gothic folk and traveling in her caravan of dreams is Orion Rigel Dommiss. So don't be a jackass and blow this event. Starts with a book signing, into an art session, followed by some comedy and some glorious music. It's like ladies night, but these are beautiful and talented women were dealing with, not the ones that go into the club downstairs. They are naughty.

how does it feel to look like candy
Let me just cut to the chase here, Aloke is bad straight nasty. They're like a muscle car, one that is really loud, fast and has a stripe down the middle of the hood or a hawk airbrushed on the door. Yeah, a hawk. Anyway, they have a really desoloate, tortured, and angsty west coast rock sound, somewhere between Drive Like Jehu and Appetite era Guns'n Roses. And I would be willing to bet the drummer for Aloke is going to be a fucking beast. These guys are gnar. We have two locals on this bill - Hearts Aside and Wild Animal Party.

This series has been focusing on periods of time. Each of my smaller works symbolize and incorporate the day in which they were made. And my larger works are about longer periods of time, like seasons, with an emphasis on a few days during that time. I incorporate photos and line into my work as a representation of thoughts or actions. And I write as if in a journal in boxes so the words overlap and become indistinct, so I am the only one who knows what is written. I also write things and paint over the words as well as the pictures. This series is me, but masked to you (I can’t tell you everything about me). Each of these pieces is highlighting the small things, the little intricacies of life that happen only once, and deserve to be recorded. This series is my history book, my journal, my life.
