Soul Jazz Records Presents Rumble In The Jungle
< author: g booker >
Soul Jazz Records will soon release the new collection “Rumble in the Jungle” (not to be confused with the fantastic Muhammed Ali documentary). This is a compilation featuring Shut Up and Dance, Ragga Twins, General Levy, Cutty Ranks and more covering the late ’80s digital ragga period in the UK that led into the jungle music so popular in the early to mid-90s. Essentially, this reviews a genre I have never heard of that is being posited as an overlooked precursor to a genre I was to young to be aware of at the time. Still, it sounds like something I might really like, even though I have no idea what it sounds like. This is why I love Soul Jazz.

if the record store closes and i wanted to stay in the music industry, i would try to get a job at either soul jazz, now again, or even numero group. i love the concept of these labels - researching and making unheard / unkown labels, genres, groups made unavailable to public.
