Time to shine some light on Chesapeake…particularly their library is badass. When other libraries are burning Harry Potter in the Rye, Chesapeake supports debauched, depraved, hard R geekdom with their hospitality towards Fantasmo, a free filmic orgy for cult heads. This unique event returns on June 15th at 8pm with a triple shot of Gojira, everybody’s favorite atomically resurrected dinosaur terror/hero. Hate, call me a geek, but I’ve had great times watching low budget exploitation classics in the Chesapeake Central library and just hanging at their amazing annual conventions, FantaSci and Horrorfest. This is a unique and important local event anybody who can appreciate the visceral charge of marginalized fantasy, horror, and scifi cinema should not miss.
