Tulsa Drone

< author: j dub >

“Soundtracks from a dark movie about trains and rivers.”

That quote was taken from the “Sounds Like” catergory on Tulsa Drone’s myspace and frankly, I couldn’t agree more. Tulsa Drone, from Richmond, VA., pull the dark, Absinthe soaked memories from your mind and make you face them, no matter how unpleasent or unsettling they may be. With guitars that shimmer and shine like sunlight on a glassy lake and a dulcimer that haunts each song, Tulsa Drone captures a mood and tone that is much broader and cinematic then most other contemporary post-rock acts.

Tulsa Drone would appeal to fans of Grails, This Will Destroy You, Lanterna, and The Black Heart Procession.

Their new album, Songs From A Mean Season, will be out May 8th on The Perpetual Motion Machine.
