Bob & Gene

The good people at Daptone Records have done the public service of digging up “If This World Were Mine…”, an album by teen soul sensations Bob & Gene, made in the late 60s by obscure Buffalo label MoDo, for its first release on CD. Daptone has developed a stellar reputation, using the best musicians in New York to craft some of the best recent soul music by artists like Sharon Jones, Sugarman 3, and Lee Fields, so suffice it to say they have good ears. Bob & Gene are also featured in the latest issue of the amazing magazine WaxPoetics, available at Relative Theory (its the one with the James Brown/Afrika Bambaataa covers).
