Green Milk From the Planet Orange

< author: James >

There's a new show being added to the already incredibly list of performances coming to The Boot, and this one deserves very special highlight. I went to a number of CMJ shows this year but as I could not afford the 375 dollar full access pass, my range of possible attendance was limited and I had to pick and choose carefully what to attend. However, as I was mingling with many full-pass-ers, I heard a lot of the hype about the newer bands from the lesser known showcases. A number of different bands were brought up by a few people, but the one band that it seemed every single person I ran into was talking about was Green Milk From The Planet Orange. "Dude...I saw this band from Tokyo last night and I think my mind was blown twenty times" or "Oh my god you didn't catch Green Milk from the Planet Orange? They stole the week." Considering other CMJ shows included The Black Keys/Black Angels, Beck, The Shins and over 200 other artists, that's a pretty big week to steal. Needless to say, I checked them out pretty quick and was pretty amazed. This is Prog-Rock without the pretension but with the free form of Jazz, the taste of Psychedelia and the energy of punk rock. Their musicianship is ridiculous and I've heard from a whole lot of people up here that their live show is unparalleled. Therefore, I would make it a point not to miss their show at The Boot on March 30th, for I'm pretty positive this will be one of those shows we'll be looking back on with mind blowing memories for years to come. March 30th, The Boot, Green Milk From The Planet Orange, Tokyo Psychedelic Free Form Prog Rock. Mark it down and postpone your wedding.
