definitely among (well, atop) my personal list of most anticipated albums of 2007 is el-p’s 4 years in the making “i’ll sleep when you’re dead.”  his proper solo debut, after leadership service in the late, great company flow, “fantastic damage,” landed upon the list i gave josh for the top dozen or so essential hip hop albums.  it also sports one of my favorite relative cd post it notes, even though i stole it from my friend theresa, the brains behind opencityforums.org, which reads “eat a phillip k dick.”  el-p’s 2nd lp comes out in march, but he was recently in the onion av club dropping pearls of wisdom about hip hop, the fall of rawkus records, and the steady success of his own label, definitive jux (def jux).  you can check out the interview here.
