Maserati
< author: j dub >
I first caught wind of Maserati a few years back, when I was working at another record store across town. A friend of mine turned me on to a lot of experimental, instrumental, math rock and post rock, really before I knew what any of those terms meant. I was listening to a lot of Cancer Conspiracy, Karma to Burn, Don Caballero, etc, when I was handed The Language of Cities by Georgia’s Maserati. I liked it, but I always felt that it needed something, it didn’t hold my attention the way some of the bands in said genre were.
Let’s fast forward a few years.
Now it seems, Maserati has a new drummer and a new record, Inventions for the New Season coming out on Temporary Residence LTD. A don’t know the exact release date of Inventions for the New Season, tight rhythyms and explosive beats buried by layers of spacey guitars. You can hear two tracks off their new record on Maserati’s myspace.
