UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF GIANTS
I am guessing this is going to be the buzz of late summer. People have said there name is cheesey and their photos are the wrong kind of sassy but if I had a band with my friends where it was more about hangin out with my friends than making great music, then this is the type of band I would probably end up doing. It pretty much is the sound of a summer with no rulez. I never thought of Hot Chip as holding back especially when you read their lyrics but the new record did not grab me the way the first one did - in fact it sounds like outtakes from the first one. I think Hot Chip should do an interview with Charlie Rose and talk shit about UTIOG with british accents then travel to India in search of a clarity and when they come back they’ll show us what real magic is all about. And in a motel somewhere Polyphonic Spree will be having a pillow fight and one of them will get a zipper in the corner of the eye and will divide the band. Until then I am going to jam the hell out of this for the rest of the summer.
