WHOSE HOUSE? Run’s House! Deluxe Editions of Run DMC’s first four [4] albums dropped 2 weeks ago and nobody told us. There could be some poor marketing strategies developed here or we may have been so preoccuppied with the following week’s releases that we needed to be slapped. Let us just say that it was both reasons cause this business is TRICKY! Damn son! I remember when I was a little tike during the 2 week christmas school break I would always ask to sleep out in the den because I thought if I was on vacation then you should be able to sleep on the couch and wear pajamas all day! But the real reason was so I could sleep next to the stereo and blast “Christmas in Hollis” on the headphones. I tried to make my winter coat look like a triple fat goose by cutting the liner and stuffing pillow cases inside. Played outside all day and then came in to warm up by the fireplace (we had one of those free standing wood burning stoves). Well I got to close to that jank and the back of my jacket went up in flames and my parents had to put me out. True story. Anyhow I am fond of the days when hip hop was more about who had the best style. We will have them in the store Monday so be prepared when you walk into the record store next week because this is all that will be allowed to touch the stereo. It’s like that and that’s the way it is!
