RLTV THRY and the interweb
< author: j dub >When I checked my email this morning, I received a letter informing me of Mark Kozelek’s new adventures. MK is putting out the next Sun Kil Moon record on his own label, Caldo Verde, and it’s comprised of all Modest Mouse covers. The album is entitled, Tiny Cities and will be released Nov 1. I’m not going to try and hide how excited I am about this, MK could put out a box set of him singing the phone book and I would buy it.
I remember a few weeks ago when every blogger was hyping Dead Air Space. I love Radiohead, but I don’t care to read their journal. However, the Early Man blog is straight up hessian!
For those of you who haven’t already scooped their copy, The Drama (#6) is for sale and on our shelves. This month it features a record review from Rel The Rec’s very own “Diamond” Dave. If the layout and amazing content isn’t enough for you to pick it up, maybe the Diamond’s comparison of Wolfmother and our space program will.
Antony and the Johnson’s win the Mercury Prize.
I’m sure out of everyone who reads our website, 5 people (me being one) will be excited to know that, Monday at Noon, Adam Franklin (of Swervedriver) will be doing an acoustic set at the Museum of Television and Radio. Hopefully, the other four, live in New York, where they can see it.
Springsteen is coming to Ted Constant Nov. 11.
Stephen Malkmus talks to Suicide Girls. And in other SM news, rumor has it that he has a song in a Sears commercial. Anyone hear about this?
We had 2 DJ’s come in late last week and sell about 800 LPs and Singles. All early 80’s to late 90’s Hip Hop. We’ve seen some sick finds from ESG, Kurtis Blow, Bambaataa, De La, Pharcyde, Eric B, and tons more priced to move. So get down here before all the other diggers leave you in the dirt! And for a little motivation here’s a track from the upcoming Blackalicious album. | Your Move mp3
Ohh yeah and before I forget, Touch and Go is hosting a new TV on the Radio song for download. | link
